They sold my copy of the Sims 3?

Tue Jun 2, 2009, 6:07 PM
Today was supposed to be the beloved release date of the Sims 3. I was so happy before now. I pre-ordered the game back in October when I thought it was coming out in February. I accepted the date being pushed back, what can you do? I even paid off the balance of the game so all I'd have to do is walk into the store and pick it up. 3 weeks ago, I saw a news release that the Sims 3 had gone gold. And yesterday, I got the wonderful call that my game would be in to pick up 'tomorrow'.

So what happens when I walk into to pick up my game at GAME CRAZY? I nicely tell the clerk that I was there to pick up the Sims 3 which I had on pre-order. He looks at me and asks, what's your name? I tell him and he says, sorry but we're sold out. Then I proceeded to reach over the counter, grab the clerk by the collar, and choke the living life out of him as I yelled, "Sold out?!?" The other clerk ran from the store calling for the police and the mother with her child looking for the latest Pokemon game for the DS ushered her child over to the HOLLYWOOD VIDEO part of the store. Then I blinked. The clerk wasn't dying under my grip and I hadn't unleashed unholy fury upon the store. I proceeded to ask how they could have sold out. He told me they had sold out of the game as of 2PM. Forgive me, I had other things I had to do to not be at the store at 2PM in the afternoon on a Tuesday, especially when I had a pre-ordered fully paid for collector's edition version of the game. He mentioned that the game somehow under-shipped to the store and that they received only 2 orders of the collector's edition rather than the 3 (which mostly translates to someone sold my copy of the game). The reason I can boldly make this claim is because GAME CRAZY, at least not my local shop, doesn't really deal in PC games. They NEVER have recent PC games on sale and even when I request a game, like Spider-Man: Web of Shadows and Saints Row 2, the games NEVER show up. Now excuse me as I go quietly sit in my rage and try not to take it out on anyone.

  • Mood: Rage
  • Playing: NOTHING BECAUSE THEY SOLD MY GAME!!!
